spoiler alert

A quadrille of 44 words for dVerse poetics…

Dad took us to stock car races,
figure 8’s, Indy racetrack tour:
our family waiting at famous light
tower for bus driver to announce,
“Gentlemen, start your engines!”

Mom was relieved my brother
didn’t put spoiler on first car or
choose Nascar driving career.

Ah, the figure 8! That came up in conversation not long ago. A wonder it lasted as long as it did. Spoiler! Ha! Spoiler alert… from Mom. Great!

Wise one, not to spoil it all on spoilers… a dangerous choice indeed.

    Good story here….family lore?
Reading it, thought it seemed a bit short — somehow I seem to have developed a sixth (44th?) sense to picking up the requisite 44. Did a word count….just 42. Remember that the title does not count in the 44.

I like the details and a feeling of possible family controversy in this.
