Linking to W3 “Weave Written Weakly” Prompt #122 here…
witness beauty in life’s changes
butterfly desires milkweed
she explores plant’s veined underside
her oval egg clings to fresh leaf.
little larva hatches from egg
witness beauty in life’s changes
striped larva eats voraciously;
caterpillar expands with growth.
now prepares for its pupa stage
caterpillar hangs down in “J”
witness beauty in life’s changes
asleep as jeweled chrysalis.
chrysalis darkens final day
bright monarch slowly emerges
crumpled wet wings plump up to fly
witness beauty in life’s changes!

Thank you for taking me there again!

Hi Dawn, glad you liked it! As a Christian, I do believe I’ll fly free (and fully transformed!) after death 🙂
Aug 30, 2024 @ 11:22:30
In my vision of afterlife, we are all fully transformed, and free 🙂
Aug 29, 2024 @ 01:51:13
Oh Lynn, isn’t the butterfly from the caterpillar just the perfect transformation, one for us to so clearly see, but transformation is before us in all life – as your refrain so beautifully reminds
Really lovely 💞Suzanne
