    This is timely–I’m nurturing a poem on the same subject. We had baby ducklings on the water hazard outside our backyard–2 sets–11 and 9. Yesterday there was only one left. Today, I haven’t seen it, but a hawk has taken up residence in a nearby tree. Such is nature.

    so majestic…so deadly
    but its nature…we see hawks
    every once in a while

    better run little field mouse…
