temptation wears
a lovely face but her
henchman snarls…
it’s frightful how easy
we can be chained:
in foolish company
an unwise choice
becomes a bad habit
grows in power to
dominate life until
it’s unrecognizable
hidden behind a mask
of pain and regret.
