summer solstice

light holds night at bay

warm earth blooms, time to make hay

farmer’s favorite day

dandelion lawn

cows in pasture, tractor’s song

work as day is long

Written in response to Carpe Diem’s prompt as we all anticipate the longest day

Your piece makes me just a tad homesick for rolling pastures of PA –
I’m visiting CA for a bit.

Thanks for stopping by my Summer Solstice CD post ~Jules

You’ve captured haying time wonderfully! It’s nice to see hay racks–there are so few around anymore.

These capture the mood of the summer solstice energy I’m used to living in rural Australia. Your photo really goes well with the first haiku – those long shadows.
