home’sc(h)ool sonnet

Swift summer spent, we know it’s back to school

when FedEx truck delivers loads of books.

To study here at home we think it’s cool

yet clueless people give us funny looks

because we never worry what we wear;

Change out of your pajamas, I must ask

then after chores, at least please comb your hair;

put on proud smile, you’re always top of class!

Peer pressure is a concept we don’t know

though sibling rivalry we understand.

Real life relationships can bloom and grow

when we learn side by side, walk hand in hand.

If there’s one thing home school deprived of us

we’d like, just once, to ride in yellow bus!

I never had the patience to homeschool my son, but we did do a lot of homework together. 🙂 Peace, Linda

So many reasons to home-school now. I was fortunate to go to private school, I suppose. Besides the obvious, another value, for me, of home-schooling would be to learn all over again–all those things I’ve apparently forgotten or missed out on the first time around.

I have always been curious about homeschooling. We both worked full time as teachers, so no options other than public school; teachers can’t afford private schools for three daughters. Loved the sonnet form, & the fun was communicated.

Lynn.. of course write on course
it’s you again.. at the end
    of this dVerse trail..
    more and less..
    and i never fail
    to come again..
    hehe.. and yes..
    siblings alike
    and all
    homogenous
    cultures tend
    to get along
    more than
    different
    abodes
    but
    different
    rules now..
    challenge of
    eternity to
    establish
    rules
    of compassion
    and cooperation
    wheRre different rules..:)

        This time Sister..LYNN it is
        hard to miss ya..
        as we almost
        tie at
        19 for
        me and
        20 for you..
        but i still
        beat you
        and expect
        you to beat
        me next time
        as that is fair
        enough
        for me..
        as tie
        as well..:)
