It’s not really about guns
maybe a lack of funds or
whether our society chose
the wrong kind of heroes
maybe a lack of funds
for helping mentally ill
who need treatment still
whether our society chose
to glorify ugly violence
media pumps nonsense
the wrong kind of heroes
who can bully baddest?

we have mentally ill people here as well – the good thing is that it is not easy for them to get a gun somewhere – think that helps – still – yeah – those social issues need to be tackled

Truly it’s about social roles
Boys who fear emotions..
Boys driving girls away
Lonely isolated boys..
Boys who fear emotions
grow weak
alone
Boys driving girls away
become frustrated
get angry..
Lonely isolated boys..
can become violent
some Kill
So in conclusion
who kills the
emotions
of boys..
Patriarchal
ways of life..
where boys
no longer
feel
like
boys…
In two of the last
several major
rampage killings..
not having
a girl
friend
is a
cited
source of
all the anger..
Humans
are still
humans..
there is
natural
aversion
to killing other
humans without
tools of death..
put a trigger
in the mix
and death
comes quicker…
It’s
just one
plus one
equals instant death.
And yes.. i’ve pursued this
with great interest..
with potential
candidates
who
overall
agree
about
the
factor
of the
social
role..
the
latest
killer
boy has
no empathy..
and much anger..
like some other folks
on the ‘Wrong Planet’ too…
It’s the illness of losing soul…
Where the real devil becomes human…
and only society overall has the potential of cure..
there are close to zero rampage killings
in the 50’s.. where social roles are
clearly defined.. and
jobs are
plentiful..
boys no
longer are
making the grade
of being boys
at
all
in their minds..
Credit sitting on their
butts in front of
screens
for a
large
part
of that..
doing whatever…
There is an epidemic
of a Zombie Apocalypse
in the U.S. where science
empirically measures empathy
levels dropping 30% since
the 50’s.. go figure..
it’s common
sense
for those
who still
have a
soul….
but hey.. i did author
the top search result on Google
for this special interest of
mine.. on the major factors
underlying rampage
killings..
if one wants to
know the answers..
listen
to
‘the
boys’…
that’s what i did..
i didn’t rely
on the
talking
news
heads..
alone..;)

end..;)

Insightful comment, my friend…i will check out the “wrong planet” 🙂

Smiles.. Friend Lynn.. And as always.. thank you for the inspiration of your soul words..:)

I agree with you, Lynn. Most of these crimes are committed with guns obtained illegally. The tragedy that needs to be addressed is poverty joblessness, the loss of the family structure. So many young people feel helpless. Wonderfully done poem.

Thank you, Victoria…many factors contribute to a complex issue.

When more pre-schoolers are killed by guns every year than police officers in the line of duty, it has nothing to do with mental health. Countries where the laws on gun-ownership are much stricter hardly have shootings of any kind.
Oct 10, 2015 @ 08:13:13
Cities with ant-gun laws have higher violent crime rates (because criminals know citizens cannot defend?)
Oct 10, 2015 @ 08:28:01
As long as stricter gun laws are not nationwide it is a lost battle. If guns are available 5 miles away, a particular city law will have very low impact. And don’t tell me that criminals will buy guns anyway. Some will. But there are resins why there are laws and some will hesitate to cross that line. Or should we just repel all laws because people will drive over the speed limit or steal?

48 school shootings (with guns) since the start of 2015. Not all done by the ‘mentally ill.’ Without guns, the number would be close to zero?
Yesterday I talked with a man who is a security officer at a large university nearby. He told me that one of the two things he is most involved with as part of his job is ARMED robberies perpetrated by adults who come from north of the university to steal cell phones at gun point from students for a quick dollar. If there were no GUNS,……..
It IS about guns.
Oct 10, 2015 @ 08:10:07
True, not all shootings are by mentally ill…it’s also about evil in the human heart
Oct 10, 2015 @ 01:25:22
Ah.. Yes it’s complicated it seems… I know we’ve had mentally ill killing here as well.. Usually it does result in less casualties though.
Oct 10, 2015 @ 01:01:16
Sad indeed – and such a difficult problem to solve, it seems.

“media pumps nonsense”..everywhere the same story…a clever use of the form…
