A poem to read aloud to a child 🙂 Kudos to my son who is a train engineer! (Linking to dVerse Poetics prompt “Wheels of Steel” with Bjorn)
jumping on
going, gone
faster, faster
pacing a train
racing in vain
faster, faster
wheels turning
diesel burning
faster, faster
graffitied cars
glowing stars
faster, faster
vision at night
one-eyed light
faster, faster
hugging its track
never look back
faster, faster, clickety-clack!

Thanks, Bjorn…great prompt! I might add the cool painting you posted, if I may?

Oh, yes. The rhythm of this is PERFECT for a train piece. I agree, it would make a great children’s book.
