decimated

my momma, she try to warn me

“he’s trouble…jus’ like yer old man

find sumpthin’ better… if ya can.”

course, i didn’t listen to her plea;

Clyde winked as i sat on his knee

he taught me how to aim a gun,

showed me armed robbery be fun!

terrorized those folks in Texas

FBI came lookin’ for us

cops ambushed car, our daze was done.

    You tell Bonnie’s take wonderfully. Perfect for the decima theme. ..and would have also worked for the folk theme on Tuesday ☺

    This is a joy – love the vernacular, the excellent use of this form, and the dawning realisation of whose story you’re telling.

    Love the vernacular and clever rhymes to make this an internal stream of consciousness of adventurous Bonnie. I’ve know a few like her. Well done!

    Wow, I love your telling of the tragedy of those two wild and out-of-control, infamous criminals…and great title too, Lynn! Thanks for linking up a wonderful poem for the prompt.

    I like your title for the DECIMA and you told the story in such a fun way though I know it’s not really funny. Enjoyed this Lynn.

    Oh yes.. such a legacy, a tale of things gone terribly wrong… in all the sense except fame.
