taking it to the streets;

cobblestone city streets,

paved with “somoza” stones

of past dictatorships;

socialism promised

justice but in reality

cobbled the people

who’ve had enough

of corruption and

being lorded over by

self-serving politicians

who bury citizens

under bureaucracy.

    No matter the politics being oppressed will always end in disaster,,, and cobblestones can be thrown.

    A city ‘paved with “somoza” stones / of past dictatorships’, where honest people have been cobbled sounds familiar. The sad thing is we watch it happen on the news in other parts of the world and suddenly realise it’s happening under our noses, while we’re being buried under bureaucracy.A powerful poem, Lynn.

    Being buried under bureaucracy promising justice is a form of burial.

    Sigh .. politicians are somewhat like thorns on a flowering society… can’t decide whether they serve to be beneficial for us or just plain annoying. Powerful write Lynn 💞

    This is good. I had no idea there was trouble in Nicaragua….but then again, where isn’t there corruption and awful leaders. Trump has just said he’s his own judge…so there. I love this.
