parents as first teachers

Kids deserve the freedom toimages

Learn from real life’s teachable

Moments which are often caught

Not taught in typical schools but

Observed in (extra)ordinary daily

Pursuits at home with their parents.

I remember one of my sons sincerely reciting:  “A,B,C,D,E,F,G…H,I,J,K, Elmo pee” !  Linking this sestet to dVerse  where Lillian holds class 🙂

You are so right, Lynn. And I love that memory of your son’s version of the alphabet!

If only all homes were like that… for many children the school is a haven.

Absolutely! Hands on is key and the most important lessons in life are about empathy, self reflection, kindness, respect, generosity……mostly taught outside of a classroom.

Most useful knowledge is gathered outside the classroom, for sure. As to teaching, as a parent, my wife and I kept in touch with the teachers so that sometimes we could be on the same page.

    Parents are the main teachers.
