A quadrille for dVerse Poets on theme of “sleep”….
______________
things got hot in egypt
when potiphar’s wife urged
young servant joseph
“come, sleep with me!”
he refused to dishonor master;
resisted by fleeing without cloak
which became false evidence
potiphar’s wife deceitfully
cried “rape!” which swiftly
landed joseph in slammer
integrity is costly!

So very true! Often we need to pay the price for honesty..

It happens but doesn’t it often end up with he says, she says.

I hope karma got the deceitful one. Glad Joseph was rewarded, but still, she needs a consequence…

Agree! The Bible doesn’t tell us anything more about Potiphar’s wife but eventually she met her Maker.
