hollow, hungry people find food
scarce but reasons plentiful: drought,
pests, war, unemployment, injustice.
fat, well-fed folks find food
plentiful but gratitude scarce:
gluttons of greed, stingy to share.
aren’t we all famished for
the bread of heaven himself
to come fill us… abundantly?
