Out on the lawn under a tree
with tables set quite daintily
a floral scent inside the tent
where Bethel ladies take their tea.
Cookie for you, a scone for me
small sandwiches cut diagonally
drink hot or cold, pour flavors bold
when Bethel ladies take their tea.
Our host is Ms. Mary Jo Lee
a proper southern belle is she
invites us chat, imagine that’s
why Bethel ladies take their tea.
Wear fancy hat to grand partay
recite a poem or play croquet
switch chairs on run, stir in good fun
how Bethel ladies take their tay!
