Yellow is…
daffodils blooming early
bright umbrella on the beach
pair of goldfinches nesting
busy honeybees buzzing
wind chimes tinkling on porch
classy, brassy trumpet tunes
tartness of lemon merengue pie
buttery sweet corn-on-the-cob
birthday cupcakes with candles
warm sunshine on cheeks
hugs from grand children
rainboots splashing in puddles
Yellow can put a smile on your face!

I’m glad to see you put your poem on Jennifer Dukes Lee’s site. I hope lots of people will come by to read your poetry!
(I noticed the version here is slightly different from the one in her comments. Which is the final revision?)

Thank you, Constance! The poem here is most recent revision…but hard for me to say it’s “final” as i never know when the itch to “edit” comes! Do you have a preference/suggestion between summer squash or sweet corn??

I think I like sweet corn better. Corn automatically elicits the golden color, the fragrance, the taste, the tactile memory of butter dripping down my fingers.
Summer squash can be green or yellow, so it stops my visualization process to think of the yellow kind.
It is so hard to quit editing, to say a piece is ok as it is, even though imperfect.

It really can put a smile on your face…. Diane
