What a shame! The girls will realize it is not smooth sailing but it’s a good experience. It should make them have more sympathy for birth situations in future.

This is so sad… and what an experience of life (and death) for your grandchildren.

I’m sorry. 😦 Never easy to experience or to try to explain. Even in death there is life. Hopefully the new kittens will offer some comfort.

A sad alignment of word and real life. An especially hard experience for the girls I would imagine but fortunately they have the kittens (and you of course)

This is so sad, Lynn. Must be hard to explain to children.

I much preferred when we raised feeder calves in the spring to bred heifers. There was always some calving problem to face. Pulling calves can be extremely disappointing, ugh! I feel your pain.

Sad to hear of the loss, just another day in a farmer’s life.
Nice poetry telling a true story.
