(Poem inspired by article at The High Calling & poetics “gift” prompt at dVerse.)

work is life gift

created to create

something productive

with whatever we have

stretch and hone abilities

promote one’s self-respect

provide for own desires

satisfy another’s need

give something back

to world we live in

joyfully serve six

actively rest one

weekly rhythm

work is life

…a gift!

I like the idea of work being service and a gift to others. We are altruistic individuals, not selfish ones.

It is a fortunate person who has found work that is also a passion. I loved your words!

I like this very much — the shape of it flows and comes back to the point…the gift.
A wonderful viewpoint on work….to give back. This exemplifies and explains that adage, be passionate about what you do. So glad you posted!

‘satisfy another’s need / give something back / to world we live in’…most important ethics one should possess to enjoy this gift of life…so well written…
