janitorial dreams

drifting into sleep

i sometimes startle

wide awake to avoid

swerve into oncoming traffic

or drive off mountain curve

but in deeper dreams

in public places i

desperately search

for a clean restroom

to find only stalls with

unhinged doors and

plugged toilets

Those restroom dreams will jolt me awake. Especially if I have successfully found one. Willie make it.

Dreaming of rest-rooms makes me remember my youth when I wetted my beds… πŸ™‚ The dreams about driving is so very arresting and scary.

Oh my gosh Lynne…..I wish I was a psychologist who could analyze dreams….I wonder how these would be analyzed. The first one….about swerving into traffic or coming to a mountain curve reminds me of dreams I have that absolutely JERK me awake. My whole body twitches…or sometimes I’m dozing and I suddenly feel like I’ve missed a step going down steps and my body jolts awake. I’ve had the feeling I think you’re describing here.
I must admit, the restroom one has never come to me. But I do have a phobia about using public restrooms…..TMI but will share it here….I have very strong thighs as I never actually sit on a public john πŸ™‚ TMI….but your poem dragged it out of me, Lynn! πŸ™‚ Glad you posted …. and I LOVE the title, especially when related to the end dreams mentioned here!

Thanks for your comments…and revelation, Lillian! I’ve wondered too what this means psychologically as I’ve had similar dreams more than once. I was afraid of TMI so ended my poem without further detail.

I can imagine the frustration in a dream searching for a clean restroom or perhaps any restroom.
