look up in pandemic

such times of great loss can open our eyes

to see truth more clearly and recognize lies

will you find any comfort in political ties?

a plague is upon us, mutant Covid-19

streets almost empty, few people are seen

how can we possibly wash our hands clean?

ashes to ashes, we chant mournful tune

whoever thought they would die so soon?

“barn’s burnt down, now i can see moon.”

in night’s deepest darkness, the Light brightly shines

to show us the path in these difficult times:

“Do not be afraid…because you are Mine!”

will we humble ourselves, even kneel down to pray

asking God to forgive our proud wandering ways?

may He grant us his mercy and restore us today.

Isaiah 26:20: Come, my people, enter into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee; hide thyself just for a little moment, until the indignation be past.

There is only one way to survive and that is to exist… waiting… and doing so is helping others.

Death is a subject we try to avoid, but awareness gives perspective. (K)

Sadly, there are still people whose eyes have not been opened, and it seems as if they are squeezing them tightly shut. Perhaps they are more scared than they let on. Thankfully, most people have proved that we can work together while keeping the required distance. Kindness and loving care do exist in this crazy world.

If nothing else, this situation has taught us (some of us, sadly) some degree of humility.

Lies and political ties…I hope for enlightenment for those still under the spell.
It is definitely a time to reflect, be humble and pray. Thanks for joining in, Lynn.

Nice line: “how can we possibly wash our hands clean?” It is good to repent and turn from “our proud wandering ways”. That may be the moon we can now see.
