Linking to dVerse poets where De hosts “magnetic” quadrilles…
when a man is a man
and woman is woman
basic biology
may prove to be
an initial distraction
which if pursued can lead
to powerful pull of
an opposite attraction
poles easily magnetized, idealized,
romanticized, even scandalized
are predictable results
of scientific methodology
”Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.” (Song of Songs 8:4)

Love the fun, poignant rhyme here:
“magnetized, idealized,
romanticized, even scandalized”
Also so much truth.

Indeed… biology works on us… basic but often denied.

Such truth in this poem, Lynn! 💝 We must learn not to rush the natural course that is bound to take place 🙂

“Basic biology” and its’ “initial distractions” are good descriptors of what, if unchecked, can lead to “predictable results”: putting it in scientific terms and then the quote from the Songs, sums up the paradoxes well.
