“Landing of Pilgrims” by Henry A. Bacon, 1877
november 1620
pilgrims land late, lost
with strangers in a strange land
such smallish ship
holds diverse perspectives
all agree on rules for unruly unity
possibilities vulnerable
nearly half don’t survive winter
makeshift common house hospital
native americans
share knowledge, resources,
reasons for thanksgiving
A quadrille on “possibilities” with dverse poets...

History is so full of excellent examples of bravery and hardship. These people endured a lot and are true survivors. So much to learn from them. Evocative write, Lynn 🙂
