brambles and briars protect little rabbits
if hop-wander away from the nest;
foxes teach kits discreet hunting habits
between sunset and sunrise seem best.
if hop-wander away from the nest,
little birdies be risking their necks
in carnivore dexterity tests.
foxes teach kits discreet hunting habits
train them to catch tender young rabbits
keeping hare population in check.
between sunset and sunrise seem best
for birdies to sleep in their nests
and tender young bunnies to rest.
Trimeric form poetry invented by Charles A. Stone: four stanzas, first has 4 lines, next three stanzas begin with corresponding line of first stanza. I added meter and rhyme for fun.

That’s an excellent trimeric! So well crafted, and good observation on foxes and hares too. I think too often we sympathise unthinkingly with the rabbit, when the fox has to eat too. Although here both are nuisance species.

I’ve been seeing a lot of this form. I like the rhythm of this one. (K)
