Like the tin man
looking for a heart
or the scarecrow
missing his brain,
occupant of oval
office is barely
there (elder abuse)
Can we blame him
for half-hearted
ignorance or naive
desire to be instant
“hero” at high cost
of deadly equipment
and human lives??
Writing quadrilles from the heart with De Jackson at dVerse poets’ pub…I don’t often go political but what U.S. President Joe Biden did/didn’t do by suddenly withdrawing troops from Afghanistan is heart-breaking!

I wonder if we can blame just him… the war and its continuation was doomed to begin with… so sad what is happening still

Blame can be shared for danger to women, children, and Christians under radical Muslim takeover.

Elder abuse for sure. 😦

You see it too…sad.

I like your line breaks here, especially, Lynn. “occupant of oval” becomes very poetic. I don’t like politics, either. I just pray.

Thanks, De!

So beautifully describes the past occupant of the oval office. Well said.

Past is past, Bev…thanks.

It’s a terrible and heartbreaking mess, isn’t it?
Aug 24, 2021 @ 08:09:27
Yes, foolishly tragic!

I agree, and don’t like thinking about it… too depressing 😦
But – well written, Lynn – you made me cringe.
