iowa elements

when winter gales blow
and temps drop below
as wind chills near zero,
even chicken lips quiver.

when windows wear frost
and ditches seem lost
under snowdrifts tossed,
how cow udders shiver.

if not properly dressed
by forecast impressed,
a farmHER could freeze liver!
