Saw last weekend a movie called Ravens on the Asian Film festival in Barcelona. It told the story of the acclaimed Japanese photographer Masahisa Fukase, who died in 2012, and who was best known in his lifetime for his photographic book The Solitude of Ravens (1976-82), with its bleak images of distant birds evoking themes of isolation and tragedy.
