squeals of delight

“Tickle me!” little girl
demanded. Grandpa
would oblige until
i laughed to tears and,
gasping for air, finally
screamed, “Stop!” which
he always did, with a grin.

Now history repeats
as I witness my husband
“tickle torture” our
own granddaughters,
floored in loud protest.

“The lady doth protest too much, methinks” – Shakespeare

gray heron sighting

long-legs lifted on wide wings

grand daughters breathless

hot pink peonies
sweet gift from my grand daughters
picked fresh this morning

hot pink peonies
bloom on daughter-in-love’s bush
color of summer

gift from grand daughters
to surprise beloved grandma
sweet smiles are enough

picked fresh this morning
fragrant blush on lips, cheeks
happiness in bloom
