he’s no wallflower

_______

you are a saute old fellow

whether gussy(sacked) up

in wine, ivory, gold yellow,

or tastefully seen in green!

_______

quite pungently romantic

and amorously aromatic

(though slippery-skinned)

you require running water

and sharp knife to cut in

fast as salsa dance partner

with hot peppers or garlic.

_______

as sweet layers peel off,

your heart risks exposure

but no fear, it’s not here

you prove elusive as ever

still eliciting tears wherever

you mince, slice or chop!

Joining poetics at dVerse where Melissa hosts with onions on the menu!

just peelings

peelings, nothing more than peelings
trying to remember apple peelings of life
teardrops rolling down on my cheeks
trying to forget onion peelings in sink…

woo-oo, peel potato in my hands
slip like never lost u
slide like never leave u
again in garden…

My apologies to songwriter Morris Albert who wrote 1975 hit, “Feelings”.  I’m linking this to dVerse quadrille prompt on “peelings”  🙂

reaching for the sun

onion bulbs buried in soil

send green shoots upward
