grey dey

Taste this fog,

stir like pea soup;

thick, steamy, heady

moist air presses.

Watercolor of wet

still-life landscape,

paint no background;

grey droplets spatter.

Pickup headlights

float, pierce the misty

curtain as eery shapes

of cow ghosts appear.

    you describe this “grey dey” so well, with scenes inside it instead of the overall image itself. i love this collection of quirky imageries.

    I really like the way you capture the surreal world that fog creates. And I love the cow ghosts.

    I’ve seen the cows in the fog. Driving in the country in the mist. That’s a great comparison of it to a watercolor.

    Really very good description of the enveloping fog. I drove through such a one once, and went very very slowly, had to!

    I can see a drive through a landscape, there is a stillness you can almost cut when shrouded in fog.

    Yep, that;s just what it’s like. This one has got to be one of my favorites of your work, Lynn.
