american west limerick

Out west lived horse thief, Billy Rio

who holed-up at Ranch Armadillo

till the cavalry came

shot a slug with his name

now Bill’s buried below lone saguaro

Poor Billy! Shot dead AND subjected to being the character of a limerick. What a terrible fate, though the limerick was great.

I love it when a poet is so bold,
a limerick appears, humor is gold,
& levity takes on a feel of regal,
in flight like a wild seagull,
fun coming in from the cold.

Delighted by your response…Thanks, Glenn. (I was feeling rather “silly” for writing this after reading so many serious posts on the theme.).
