breezy little poem

gentle quiver shivers maple leaves

reveals flash of their silver underside

quiet breath whispers subtle tease

where downy baby owlets hide

stronger gust flexes tops of trees

may blow in raindrops late today

squirrel kits sleep fits and sneeze

when swing in spring’s breezeway

I love the silver maples for their silver leaves! We have several and love to watch the leaves dance in the wind.

I love the sounds you use in this–assonance, alliteration. So good to read aloud.

I especially love the keen observation of that silver underside of leaves… sometimes the details it’s what makes it all the better.

“subtle tease” that is…..which is more interesting, I might add!

Oh yes…enter Spring babies! I don’t know if there could be anything more adorable than owlets. Some beautiful phrases in your quadrille, like “gentle quiver shivers” and “quiet breath whispers subtle breeze”. So peaceful.
