Linking “cloud” quadrille (44 word poem) with dVerse Poets…(photo by lynn)
monday mood
in layers of grey
lowering, glowering
clouds are shrouds
for secret fears
and private tears
as each soul
only knows of
its own sorrows;
cannot fathom another’s
though true sisters/brothers
might try to sigh
with kindred spirit’s cry
in overcast
empathy.
“Each heart knows its own bitterness… ” -Proverbs 14:10

as each soul
only knows of
its own sorrows…. love that cause we can only imagine what we don’t experience first hand.

its own sorrows;"

You are kind, Maria 😌

The weight of Monday is so much felt… maybe not even compassion can warn sometimes

A heavy feeling for sure, Bjorn.

Nice closeup of the drops on the window. I like the idea of empathy being our window to another and also what blocks us from fully fathoming the other.

Thank you, Frank.

It’s a beauty right?

Yes!

We can never know another’s cloud, only react to the lessened light beneath its shadow.

Have you had a cloudy Monday too, Lynn? Your Quadrille has a lyrical lilt – the rhymes give it a wonderful little kick, despite the grey undertones, especially ‘lowering, glowering /
clouds are shrouds’.
I think we all have those times when we retreat behind our own clouds.

Yes, it’s part of our human experience…thanks for reading ☔️

Love what you did with this, Lynn. It’s that kind of day here–so easy to withdraw and stay within oneself. But so important now to reach out to others

The photo evoked these emotions…our weather here is mostly and sunny today!
Oct 10, 2016 @ 14:02:40

Great use of the given word today. I believe, however, that it is when we share our sorrow and listen to the sorrow of others that we live compassion. And compassion heals the wounds of sorrow.

You are quite right…thanks for commenting, Linda.
