audaciously catty

Playing with “anthropomorphism” at dVerse poetics with Lillian 🙂

fat cat in silky
top hat, walks
sleek this season
(has no reason
to run) saunters
too confidently,
(pompous louse)
directly to famed
doghouse- ritzy,
spacious place
(will absent dog
give chase?)
cat pauses for
grand entrance,
smiles smugly to
paparazzi & me.
then, full of pride,
he slinks inside
to curl up cool
in empty dish;
crinkles pug nose-
where’s my fish?
long afternoon nap
(could be a trap?)
it’s easy to be,
like i already said,
audaciously catty
after dog is dead.

Ah, that nasty ole cat — I already miss the dog. Get another, don’t let that cat become even more self-contently spoiled! 😉
    (very fun !)

Ah, a bittersweet ending but so finely observed – that cat attitude, and fun and jaunty rhyming!

I love your cat profile…reminds me of how our cats must sip from every fresh bowl of water and try out every cushion (we have two dogs)…the ending was sad

Oh my!!! Surprise ending here😊 Love that fat cat in silky top hat, curling up in the dog’s empty bowl. Purrrrrrfect behavior for that silly cat! They find the most amazing places to curl up. Thanks for posting to the prompt – love your take on it!!

I suspect the cat may miss the old ways with when the dog was a constraint to deal with.

Good for the cat, but I am sorry for the dog.
Fun take here (except for the very last line which is sad).

Sad about the cat – but I guess the cat’s chuffed to ribbons,
    Loved your words BTW.
    Kind regards

When cat’s away the mouse will play
when dog’s away the cat will have his way…

Love your self confident cat (but i feel sad for the dog)
