Ooo! What a fun read. My dad was in the Navy and Air Force but didn’t have fun stories like this to share. 🙂

My father served in peacetime so for him it was an adventure!

I was thinking of Top Gun too while reading this, Lynn. And I love that your Dad still grins as he tells this story! This was really fun to read!

I love this.. like a prank almost. And I almost think of your Dad as Tom Cruise in Top Gun…
Jun 02, 2017 @ 16:53:44
Ha! My Dad related to that movie in some ways…

Crazy kids! My dad also has a lot of insane/fun memories and tall tales. Very absorbing poem.

Thanks for reading!

Strange, I did not see danger in this situation, only a bit of youthful humor by a Dad who still grins, telling his sins! Delightful story.
Jun 02, 2017 @ 12:53:18
Thanks, Bev 😄
Jun 02, 2017 @ 10:42:15
You made light of a very very dangerous situation. Well done.
Jun 02, 2017 @ 12:52:52
I did not think of the danger…my Dad loves to tell this story and I maybe stretched it a bit. 1950’s protocol probably different than Navy today (but boys will be boys, as they say). Thanks!
