window to writer’s world

writing is a process;
mental and physical
engagement with my
surroundings; a scene
from the window or a
moment within mind.

i welcome green ideas
wholesome, peaceful,
like the life-giving trees
in farm grove; oxygen
for brain in warmth of
full summer season.

but sometimes my
words reveal darker
thoughts like dormant,
leafless trees; barren
and bleak in cold of
dull wintery wood.

Beautiful (oak?) trees and it looks like they were planted in a row. Green sanctuary is what I see.

It was your last stanza that caught me and spun me on ….

The trees do tell us the seasons. I used to have an oak tree outside my window at my last residence and I loved watching the changes. But you have quite an expansive array of trees! (K)

I love the idea that the mind goes through phases of ups and downs.
    Very nicely done Lynn!

You may not know it but you are truly living a blessed existence to be able to write in such serene surroundings.
    Good luck with your writing

For those of us in northern climes, the lush green of summer gives way to the bleak of winter, when the view is not so soothing! Well said.

I love the dappled view captured in the photograph, Lynn and the β€˜green ideas’ – I welcome them too! The shift at the end made me shiver.

Thanks for sharing this lovely view – and I can imagine it bare and cold in winter too.
