A quadrille for dVerse Poets on theme of “sleep”….
______________
things got hot in egypt
when potiphar’s wife urged
young servant joseph
“come, sleep with me!”
he refused to dishonor master;
resisted by fleeing without cloak
which became false evidence
potiphar’s wife deceitfully
cried “rape!” which swiftly
landed joseph in slammer
integrity is costly!

Lust and Lies. Wickedness. I don’t know that story. Hope the young man didn’t have to pay the price for that woman’s lust&lies. Hope she grew a conscience and apologized. Wicked.
Thanks for sharing. Loved your quadrille. 👏

An epic story from the Bible…Joseph’s life ends well, as ruler of Egypt and reunited with family. Thanks for your appreciation, Selma!

Still, we must answer to our own conscience. (K)
May 16, 2022 @ 21:54:46
Yes, I think that is what integrity means…we live what we believe, what our conscience tells us.
May 16, 2022 @ 19:06:35
Sure can work at that way at times Lynn.
