“body piercing saved my life”*

______________

when we partake of

the bread and wine,

we accept the gifts of

his body and blood,

(soul-nourishing essence

offered by living presence).

my broken heart kneels

thankful for a broken

savior who loves us with

his arms stretched wide,

present in our suffering.

Such a heart-touching poem, Lynn. Praise God for a Savior who loved us with his arms open wide at Calvary. Even now he welcomes us with wide open arms every time we come to him. In addition, praise God for a Savior who is present in our suffering, fully understanding of our suffering, because his was worse by far.

I love a message of love… it should be universal I think.

Yes indeed, i can identify with this poem. To accept his presence in so wonderful a manner is healing for everything that breaks our spirit.

The lines that resonate with me, Lynn, are:
    ‘my broken heart kneels
    thankful for a broken
    savior who loves us with
    his arms stretched wide’.
