Announcing…

My brief book has arrived and I want to share it with you! Similar to delivering an actual baby, when you write a book and gift it to the world, you hope it doesn’t say anything foolish and that other people will like it.

This is a mini memoir about our family’s experiences raising cattle. It also includes some poetry…and cow jokes. If you live locally, contact me for a print copy. If at a distance, you can read online by clicking the photo link on my blog’s “About” page. Enjoy!

My dad had the first Charolais cattle in South Dakota and was also first to plant birds foot trefoil –a Japanese cattle feed. Also one of the first to artificially inseminate his cows…The state would often ask him to try out experimental crops or processes. Thanks for letting me read your book. I used to ride out on the ranch with my dad but was in no way instrumental in the day to day processes.

That is interesting about your dad, Judy! We are less than an hour from South Dakota border and have some friends in Corsica.

wow Congrats Lynn!! Happy for ya! All my grandparents, uncles, cousins and aunts on my Mom’s side of the family are cattle ranchers. (One of the biggest reasons I became vegeterarian) lol. Anyways I hope your book brings happiness to a lot of people! 🩵

Thanks for the good wishes, Tigress! We’re a small scale operation…Iowa’s farmland is better for crops than ranchland. I think you can appreciate the stories, if not the beef 🙂

    Congratulations on your book, Lynn!

Having a book published is in a way like birthing a baby, and I agree you want everyone to love it. I’m glad you got to celebrate it with your family–and cake! 😊
