miss my furry friend;
so many peaceful rabbits
…reminders of her
we watch them nibble clover
growing fat, no need to run

not gonna miss ‘em
our dog days are over
weather cools to 80’s
summer humidity drops
we can breathe again
heat made us both pant
my sweet silly Lily girl
husky-lab fur face friend
her final breaths labor
humidity of tears drop
105 fevered body cools
my dog’s days are over
oh, how i miss her !

long-legged Lily
meets her short boyfriend, Elmo,
at beagle’s corner.
commence sniffing and wagging…
when he gets too close, she snaps!
