engine’s purr signals
plane fast approaching
wild whir of propellors
wings swoop over grove
stirring leafy tree tops
drops low across fields
to lift up quickly again
just escaping live wires
banking sharply back
roaring momentum
echoes loud off grain bins
barely clears old barn roof
nearly scrapes against silo
in death daring dive
to rid farmer’s crops
of marauding aphids.

What is so interesting here, to me, is to think how all the critters also fly–sometimes the fields dancing with their helicopter skips and jumps–they too are crop dusters. Thanks. k.

Thanks for your comment, K…yes, we need those little pollinators to do their dance…it can be a delicate balance!
