altar of alterations

Change is the certainty of life —

we (un)certainly hold choice in our hands:

to fear strangeness of change,

or

to face love’s changing challenge;

to hide from (unfamiliar) monsters

or

to seek soul (familiar) opportunities

to shrink

or

to grow!

As we embrace each (minor) moment’s exchange,
we may become (major) catalysts for change:

watch butterflies emerge

encourage spirit’s surge

relieve evil’s scourge.

One must learn to trust the unchangeable One

who forms life

transforms change

conforms us

until his perfect (and perfecting) will be done.

Change is sometimes difficult to contemplate as happy and safe we become in standing still. At present I am happy with standing still.
    Kind regards

Are you using corporate language here (the highlighted words) – or am I merely obsessed with such terminology after several days of training about change? I especially loved that terzet which changed the whole rhythm and sound of the poem:watch butterflies emerge

    encourage spirit’s surge

    relieve evil’s scourge.

Easier said than done…well, in my case anyway. 🙂 Some changes in my life have rattled me to my core! My trust has been rattled too…

For me change has always been an adversary, from sagging aging muscles, to time zones, to seasons–from my wife’s moving of the furniture, to new policies, to new friends–& yet, how leaden-eyed dull would life be without it?
