Oh yes… we can do it all … but we need more than a little change to do it.

Those ending lines pack a punch. We can mask a lot of changes in our body but time eventually catches up.
Jan 15, 2019 @ 20:21:43
Yes, we must accept the marks of time and hopefully improve our inner self!

I like the ideas of wearing image of God and uploading souls of poetry…thanks for your artful comment, Fred!

Sadly, we can change the exterior in all these ways, but wherever we go there we are! Good write.

So true…thanks!

So clever, Lynn! That last line cracked me up. Ain’t it the truth.

Glad you enjoyed it, De…thanks for the prompt!

Nice line: “monied culture of pretender”

Thanks, Frank. We can afford to change…

I stopped coloring my hair 10 years ago when my hair whent white from end to end. But it seems we do everything to appear young and beautiful, don’t we?
Jan 15, 2019 @ 06:58:21
Yes, is that age-ism?
Jan 14, 2019 @ 21:56:04
to look (expensive) best. I color my hair – it isn’t cheap – I look forward to the day when my grey looks good and I can have a full head of silver.
But the beginning line reminds me that most of us conform (think public school days…) and we lose our confidence. That’s a mask I wish we never learned to wear.
Jan 14, 2019 @ 22:01:10
Yes, I stopped coloring my hair 6 months ago…and I think I’m alright with “highlights” of silver!
Jan 14, 2019 @ 21:22:48
It’s the modern world! Yeah, people change all right.
