it’s good to create
energy in a marriage
a bit of spark adds
excitement to any
couple’s relationship
but negative energy
will backfire on itself;
wound like [bam]
agitated boomerang
or spring [zing]
like wristwatch too
tightly wound, no
longer
synchronized
in time
together.
Lillian challenges us to write a quadrille (44 words) using both pronunciations/meanings of “wound”. Join us at dVerse poets pub 🙂

Ouch, there are those poisonous relationships… once it starts it just gets worse.

…and it’s not easy to unwind the clock or heal the wounds.

I like how the last lines trend backwards instead of forwards. It calls to my mind science fiction and the things that we dreamed of nuclear power doing (like time travel).

I like your formatting where it’s smooth until tweaking but tweaking can go too far and then things are all over the place, as your formatting shows.
