poet living inside head

forgets to water houseplants

romantics die gently

intermittent rain

old lovers exchange warm kiss

under umbrella

pit, pit, patter of raindrops

two hearts offbeat together

blacksmith bellows

“…They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.  Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.”  (Isaiah 2:4)


 

hammer clangs anvil

iron thrust into fire’s white heart

sweating over forge

skilled craftsman shapes legacy

in horseshoes and kettle hooks
