contentment is green

Earth’s new spring green

sings a theme serene

for ears and eyes keen

to creation’s pastoral scene.

On hills’ grassy sheen

fresh rain-washed clean

sheep shearer has seen

fluff-puff wool to glean.

A poets’ paradise pristine,

if you know what i mean.

For dVerse Poets “green” quadrille challenge and with my apologies to Luci Shaw 🙂

Doesn’t this beautiful photo of apple blossoms on orange background lift one’s spirit?  One more day of NaPoWriMo challenge to write 30 poems in 30 days!  A lot of mine were haiku/haiga  🙂

on wings of spring

paddling of ducks

mallard hatchlings learn to swim

fresh pack of quackers

rippling waves of prairie grass

under his wings

God covers me

with his gentle hand

like a warm coat

in winter winds.

He covers me

with his wide mercy

like a big umbrella

in spring downpour.

He covers me

with his tender love

like a bridal tent

in summer sun.

He covers me

with his life’s blood

like a full pardon

in fall starkness.

He covers me

with his eternal grace

like a safe shelter

in all seasons.

“We live under an umbrella of goodness and mercy.”  (Pastor T. on Psalm 23)

“I am my beloved’s and he is mine…his banner over me is love.” (Song of Songs)

spring sprung

Sun smiles on five inches of wet snow melting to fill empty birdbath.
