glory of morning

sound of rain

pitter – pat – patter

on sidewalk

spitter – spat – spatter

on windowpane

beads drip

from

clothesline

baubles drop

from

leafed vine

gutters gurgle

cheerily

rivulets burble

merrily

umbrella unfolds

earthworm unholes

birdsong stills as

rain gauge fills

lightning tumbles

thunder rumbles

cloudburst pours

find shelter indoors!
