twice every year
daylight savings time
messes with my inner clock
an insomniac’s seasonal nightmare
hard to say which is harder
on mind and body:
to spring ahead or fall back
why do we try to
interfere when time
doesn’t wish to be saved?
Time for quadrille #28 at dVerse Poets Pub this week!

Never understood why clocks have to be changed..agree totally!
Mar 13, 2017 @ 20:48:59
Thanks!

You wouldn’t thing an hour would make a difference, but it does.
Mar 13, 2017 @ 18:21:10
I know, right?

Oh Lynn, you’ve hit the nail on the head! I was taken unawares by the DST this evening! We’ve got it on 26th March in Europe and the UK and I won’t know whether I’m coming or going for at least a week. I totally agree:
‘why do we try to
interfere when time
doesn’t wish to be saved?’
Mar 13, 2017 @ 18:27:22
Exactly! Thanks, Kim.

Oh I can feel your annoyance and share your pain. I wholeheartedly agree with this line; “why do we try to interfere when time doesn’t wish to be saved?”
Mar 13, 2017 @ 18:25:21
Thanks, Sanaa 😀

Winter & DST–both are not our friend. WA state toyed with idea of deleting it. I would endorse that whole-heartedly. Opening the Pub one hour early gave us back the last hour though.
Mar 13, 2017 @ 18:24:50
Glad pub opened early today 😊

When I worked, my territory covered three states and two time zones, two of which honored DST, and one which was on DST year around. Just keeping track of what time it was where was a full time job! I’m sure you speak for many! ( I was in the state that had DST year around, and I loved that. Now we’re back to EST/DST again).
Mar 13, 2017 @ 18:24:00
It gets complicated when you cross those lines!
Mar 13, 2017 @ 17:09:34
I am with you on this Lynn, it feels so unnatural to change the clocks
Mar 13, 2017 @ 18:20:50
Yes, it does.
Mar 13, 2017 @ 16:54:17
Amen, sista. I have run into so many people in 2 days who agree with you. A good reason we shouldn’t mess with God’s plan for creation.
Mar 13, 2017 @ 18:20:28
For sure!

These time changes make no sense to me either. When I was working in Phoenix, Arizona, the time didn’t change. They were always the envied exception to the rule for scheduling remote meetings although because they didn’t change their clocks the scheduling became even more interesting two times a year. We had to get used to a new difference in times.

Thanks for your vote…

I used to report in to Phoenix for conference calls etc. Pain in the behind.

I wish they stop meddling and interfering with time Lynn ~ I had a hard time waking up to go to work this morning ~
Mar 13, 2017 @ 16:38:49
I agree!
