We better start getting it right… goodness— we better start.
Thanks for sharing.

BE the miracle, right?!

RIGHT. BE IT! 💕

I like the way this builds – like a fire taking hold! – and I love that “forgiveness under pressure” – the double meaning of physical and emotional pressure is great. And yes, we all seem to be on edge at the moment. Thank you for sharing this.

I appreciate the prompt and your feedback, Sarah!

Good advice, Lynn. If only our egos wouldn’t get in the way. Relationships work best when they aren’t adversarial, when both realize there is no winner in a firestorm.

“No winner in a firestorm”…exactly!

Loved it…✌️✌️🙂
Specially this part
“pride’s fuel
and
emotionally
charred
words are
stirred
until
warmest
relationship
is reduced
to ashes”

I am all for love and forgiveness when warm relationshipts are reduced to ashes.

We need God’s grace, I think.

NIccely done.

Great message, and I like the very short lines. It mirrors many people’s short tempers. 🙂

Thanks, Jenna!

it doesn’t seem to take much to set people off today, regardless of the nature of the relationships – we’re so much tinder, dried wood, waiting to be lit up – and the idea of a fire extinguisher! wow – how unusual and clever and interesting to pop-up in a poem! Love that! wow! forgiveness under pressure …. really cool analogy to make – although I’m not sure it’s entirely possible, in the heat of the moment …. but yeah, I very much like the idea you’re presenting!
Oct 18, 2021 @ 18:36:25
Thanks for your comments. Sometimes it’s not humanly possible!

I like the metaphor of words as careless sparks that offend leading to angry fires. And forgiveness as the fire extinguisher is truly what will save us! ❣
Oct 18, 2021 @ 18:35:32
You are right, Tricia, and forgiveness is costly.
Oct 18, 2021 @ 16:21:38
I love this! Such a spot on representation of friendships today
Oct 18, 2021 @ 16:27:11
Thanks for reading and commenting! Yes, seems there’s a lot of dry tinder.
Oct 19, 2021 @ 05:58:58
Exactly. Dry tinder and explosive personalities!
