future revelation

“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.” *

pay attention to Logos
the first and the last Word
who embodies hidden manna
if you have ears, use them to
listen and believe, remember

hold fast to faith, claim victory
reward of pure white stone
written with glorified real name
smooth in overcomer’s fingers
testament to commuted virtue

signifies acquittal from guilt and
condemnation, seen as worthy
in the Master’s eyes, welcomed
with solid ticket to the kingdom
as he persevered, so shall we!

*Revelation 2:17 NIV

give honor where honor due

Hallowed be your name?

be set apart, made holy

to know God, to make him known

but we are an unholy people

hollow/hollowed out, hurt/ hurting

we’ve brought shame on your name

we have put out the bright signal fires

even dousing them with tepid water

yet, when life’s trouble terrifies us

we again take your name on our lips

cry for help in hopeless places

look for you in unfamiliar faces

you hear, you answer, you come

dispel our soul darkness

heal our heart wounds

wake us to our real life

Hallowed be your name!

what’s in a name?

-linked with Marina’s pesky questions prompt at d’Verse

if asked introspective questions

who are you? whom do you love?

i naturally respond with my name:

“lynn” (English) means “refreshing stream, waterfall”

i am like water in its various forms: vapor, liquid, solid–

 cumulus cloud reflecting heaven’s

brightness or darkly brooding until

rain falls in myriad of droplets collecting

into rivulets of cascading laughter to flow

into clear mountain lake, mirror calm, until

stirred to frothy whitecaps by life’s winds;

as solid iceberg exposes only tip,  in time

glacial ice will melt to join eternal sea

who i was, am, will be… changing and yet in essence, still me

let me live up to my name, to be poured out and refresh others

offering a drink of life-giving water from my well

yet i am also thirsty, needing refreshment myself…

perhaps best answer is NOT who i love but Who loves me?

i will joyfully sing, “all my fountains are in you!”
