ephphatha: be opened

Prayer in “quadrille” form, exactly forty-four words…link to dVerse Poets

Open my hands

to receive extravagant grace

Open my ears

to hear shepherd’s voice

Open my eyes

to see beauty of narrow way

Open my mind

to know transforming truth

Open my mouth

to speak words of hope

Open my heart

to love courageously.

Jesus spoke “Ephphatha!” to deaf/mute man (see Mark 7:31-37)

hideous powers

world of violence

when we tolerate evil

cultures in rubble

align to  higher standard

pursue peace with sword of truth

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  (Ephesians 6:12)

what is truth?

even

when Pilate was

looking truth in the face,

he questioned and crucified him

…like us

two + two = four

Knowledge is factual, whether or not we learn it.

Truth is timeless, whether or not we believe it.

Love is powerful, whether or not we practice it.

Beauty is exquisite, whether or not we behold it.

God is present, whether or not we recognize Him.
