how to sink a
quadrille on “cue”?
first, eat plate of
tangy pork BBQ
at local pub
called “The Cue”
then, chalk up
tip of cue
call a pocket
sight level aim
at cue ball
in pool hall
take center stage
right on cue!

memories

strumming addicted to grief
cold, thin, mountain air
stealing our breath
mingles yours
high in sky
i’m sorry for
what was unsaid
life hangs by a thread
as we still wait for you to
turn around and come home
